Single Player can be used for playing sequences of audio elements (blocks of schedule (DSM-005-15) providing additional audio decoration elements. Playback is carried out via a single device, taking into account cross-fades between elements. The play-list represents a single block of the schedule. All means of schedule editing with regard to audio items (cross-fade, marking, normalizing, go to next, voice track recording) can be applied to contents of the single player.

Play lists can be loaded to the player automatically from the schedule blocks or manually by the operator. A combined approach is also possible. In this case, the schedule should list only obligatory material to be delivered ON-AIR while all other elements (audio items, jingles, etc.) can be loaded manually by the operator from a Media DB] (DSA-0700-15) [wikiDiDevDocDSIIModulesDSM-037-15_EN Folders] (DSM-037-15) [wikiDiDevDocDSIIModulesDSМ-009-15_EN Jingle Machine] (DSM-009-15) [wikiDiDevDocDSIIModulesDSM-002-15_EN Files Browser (DSM-002-15) and other windows. Players can be controlled from a mixing console with the help of the "Fader start" and "PFL" signals. Players can be set for automatic start at a specified time or it can wait for a command from the operator. There are a large number of parameters that define the player behavior.

A system usually has a number of block players, each of which has its own tasks to fulfil and can be configured in reverence to its task.
