Folders Module (DS-00-037-15) (rus)

{{Image("fcat_eng2.png")}}

Folders Module (DS-00-037-15) window (folders or categories window) - is a simple way to organize active or long-term storage of audio elements. All operations, applicable to schedule elements: marking, properties editing etc., could be used for folders. Content of the folders is synchronously updated on all working places of a system. Changes, introduced at one working place, are syncronously seen on all others.

Operator or moderator may pre-organize the frequently used on-air audio elements in a separate folder at a planning working station which will ease his work later on the air and help to locate the needed element fast. Folder elements could be also assigned to Jingle Machine (DS-00-009-15) buttons. There is a possiblity to sort out the stored elements by one of the displayed fields and to filter folder elements by a specified text string. Folders have no any association to file system subdirectories. Original file name of audio element is being fixed by a system at adding it to a folder. By default a new file, prior to adding to a folder, is copied to a special network folder, that could be accessed from every working place. Erasing of an element from a folder does not mean physical erasing of a corresponding file. Keeping a file at erasing of element, referenced to that file, helps to restore information in case of human mistake. Elements could be copied from folders window to other modules the same way as from the files window. Folder content could be reserved by the reserve system like it is possible with the schedule elements.

To delete unused files one can launch "Delete unneeded sound" function. In general, Folders Module (DS-00-037-15) provides simpliest way of organization of on-air material storage. Unlike Media DB] (DS-07-000-15) Folders Module (DS-00-037-15) does not allow nested structures and diffirentiation of access rights to separate categories of material Folders Module (DS-00-037-15)  could not be also used for [wikiDiDevDocDSIIModulesDS-00-021-15_ENG gap filler] (DS-00-021-15) and [wikiDiDevDocDSIIModulesDS-00-023-15_ENG schedule items rotation (DS-00-023-15) modules. Big quantity of elements in folders may influence the performance of the file system.

Assuming stated above we recommend using Media DB] (DS-07-000-15) for flexible organization of material storage with unlimited nesting capability and adapted for the radio station’s workflow (if your system has [wikiDiDevDocDSIIModulesDS-07-000-15_ENG Media DB (DS-07-000-15) installed, current window will display also categoried from "Jingles" part of MDB).
